“Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity,”
I Timothy 4:12 ESV
At Crestwood, we value youth, and we want to walk beside them through these formative years as they grow in their faith. The teenage years are a wonderful time of learning, growing and discovering who you are. But there are often more questions than answers when it comes to life and faith.
The core of our youth ministry is our weekly Sunday school class, which consists of Bible study with facilitated discussion. Our hope is that the Bible becomes personal for students, and that they learn to apply it to their everyday lives. We provide a time and safe place for youth to be in fellowship and consider these questions together. Our Crestwood56 (5th and 6th grade students) and Crestwood Youth (7th-12th grades) groups provide nurture and support as they mature.
Sunday mornings emphasize the value of relationships with God and others through group discussion of scripture and topical questions.
On Sunday nights, Crestwood 56 and Crestwood Youth groups meet at the Midlothian Campus from 5 to 7 for a time of food, fellowship, Bible study and games. We begin each week with a meal together and catching up with each other. Each group will then enjoy a small Bible study that includes small group discussions on how to apply faith to our lives, and connections through games and special activities.
On Wednesday Nights at 6:30p, the youth divide up in small groups by age and gender for a topical Bible study and spend time in discussion on how to apply faith to their everyday lives.
We are intentional through the year to pour into our students, and also encourage them to reach out in Jesus’ Name. Youth conferences and weekend retreats deepen relationships and provide time to unpack spiritual truths too deep to process in an hour. Service opportunities and mission trips allow students to serve for their neighbors wherever they find them: around the corner, hours away, and around the world.
