HIStory Becomes part of OURstory at Camp Crestwood!

And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.  Galatians 3:29
Thank you to all who committed their time and gifts to this extraordinary outreach and to the children, youth, adults and all from the community that participated. Over 100 Children delighted in and anticipated each new day at Camp Crestwood as we welcomed and celebrated the lives and stories of Abraham, Ruth, David, Ezekiel and Mary Magdalene.
Our week began with the promise and blessing that God gave to Abraham. Each morning was filled with activities inviting the children into this sacred promise by choosing to believe, follow, and celebrate their faith in Jesus. On Friday, Mary Magdalene delivered the good news that Jesus is alive, reminding us that God has a great plan for our lives, and that we all have an important role in spreading this great news and continuing HIS story! The children ended the week by preparing and decorating cards with the message “Jesus is Alive!” The cards were handed out to the congregation during Sunday service in hope that we would spread this good news to those in need of the hope and promise of a Savior. The children enjoyed participating in our Greatest Bucket Challenge, raising over $500 for the Greatest Journey, which purchased 85 Bibles, spreading the Gospel to kids around the world. We also received over 400 items for the Crestwood food pantry!
We followed up our week with a Church wide celebration on Sunday, inviting all those that participated in Camp Crestwood. We had over 20 visiting children and their families that attended service and enjoyed the food and activities afterward! It is so inspiring and beautiful to see the body of Christ in action, and though not without its challenges and stressful moments, this effort presents the golden opportunities to discover, appreciate, and encourage one another through Christ. I am blessed to be a part of it.
Thanks to everyone for a great week!
