Moms take care of their children. Who takes care of moms?
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) provides the nurture and resources moms need. MOPS knows that better moms raise better children who make a better world. MOPS is dedicated to the message that “mothering matters” and that moms of young children need encouragement during these critical and formative years.
MOPS exists to meet the needs of every mom—urban, suburban, and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single, and married moms—moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS help mothers find friendships and acceptance, provide opportunities for women to develop and practice leadership skills in the group, and promote spiritual growth.
MOPS is about…
• Celebrating Motherhood • Meeting Needs • Making Connections • Experiencing God’s Love through relationships and resources.
MOPS AT CRESTWOOD
Where: Crestwood’s West Campus in Midlothian, VA (directions)
When: We meet every otherThursday from 9:30 a.m. – 11:55 a.m. from September to May. Our first meeting for the 2019-2020 year will be Thursday, September 19th. For a complete list of meeting dates, please contact our Coordinator at email@example.com.
A typical morning MOPS meeting begins with fellowship time, allowing moms to settle their children in the classrooms and grab a morning snack. There is a time of teaching, by one of our mentors or by speakers from the community. Presenters offer inspiration and information that is relevant to the life of a mother. Topics celebrate motherhood and meet a mom’s unique needs.
Following the speaker is a time of discussion. The intimate and accepting atmosphere of a small group offers moms a chance to share their successes, failures, questions, and concerns. It is during these times that a mother realizes that she is not alone, and lifelong friendships are formed.
At every meeting, you’ll find fun and friendship among women who understand this challenging, but rewarding, phase of life.
During our meetings, our children meet together in a program designed to meet their needs. The children are divided into classes based on age and are involved in planned activities that provide social growth and spiritual enrichment. Games, Bible stories, crafts, music and play enhance their physical and creative development.
